We are a community of diverse photographers capturing Blackpool and further afield. Our images aim to create conversation, and connection and explore what else a photograph can do.

Shared Space through a diverse lens

  • Who we are

We want to explore the world through our cameras. Gaining joy from the simple act of capturing an image and clicking a shutter. Some describe us as having a learning disability but that is secondary to who we are. Our photography and work with The pARTnership have been shown and bought at galleries. We have our own stories and the power through a camera to tell those stories. We want our work to be collaborative and create conversation and connection. We want to find out about the places we live and the communities that exist there. We believe diversity is powerful and can challenge convention and bring people together to tell new stories.

Our use of a camera is an extension of who we are, exploring what else a photograph can do, allowing inclusivity, and demonstrating how the places that we live impact our everyday lives to tell a story of diversity, and community and creating spaces where we all exist together.

  • Current Project

In 2022 we discovered a commemorative plaque dedicated to borough architect JC Robinson. We began to think about the built environment in the 1920-40s in comparison to the current day. We uncovered that a series of 30 buildings were designed by the little-known architect however many of the buildings some existing and some lost would hold important community stories for The New Langdale photographers, their families, and the wider community. The project supported by Arts Council England aims to uncover social stories collaboratively capturing memories through photographs old and new. The buildings are Hawes Side, Marton, Bispham, Highfield Library, Derby Baths, South Blackpool Open Air Baths and Lido, South Blackpool Rock Gardens, The Solaris Centre, Bispham Tram Station, Carleton Crem and Gatehouse, Layton Library and Toilet block (ex tram station), Stanley Park Art Deco Cafe, Stanley Park Gate House shelter, The Colonnades, Blackpool Cricket Club and Pavilion, Stanley Park Golf Club, North Shore Cabin Lift, Stanley Buildings, Harrowside Bridge, Collegiate Grammar School, Highfield School. Citadel 1924 Memorial Hall, St Johns Market, Palatine Technical College, Squires Gate Bridge and Station, Stanley Junior School and Talbot Road Bus Station.
